Black Girl Collective

Black Girl Collective was derived from the alter-ego of the founder, which is Black Girl Minimalism. The brand itself is a love story of art, creation and owning your skills. The brand incorporates the use of smells to elevate the connection with the consumer. Each scent, skin care product and offered product for sale is a love story put into the brand itself. Originally the brand started in 2018 under the name of LavendarSpells, which was a unique way to tie the brand to the founder's connection to the LGBTQ community. Lavender was spelled as Lavendar to create an inventive way of separation from other brands. The brand has now been renamed under Black Girl Co and Black Girl Collective written out.
Kamilah, who is the Founder of the brand has been involved with other Women Owned Brands that were showcased in her hometown of Prince Georges County, MD. She hosted the event known under PolishedEvents for their Women Empowerment panel. She also consistently volunteered with local elementary schools to teach about entrepreneurship as well. During her time living in Los Angeles, she also partnered as a vendor for Long Beach's 4th Street Market. Kamilah loves to be involved in her community and loves to connect with other likeminded owners, individuals and creatives to grow with them.
